Goldie’s Take: Chiefs Win 35-31

After a long, chaotic, roller coaster of a season, we have finally reached its peak. It’s kind of poetic how it all worked out. On one side you have the hottest young star in the NFL. At only 25, Patrick Mahomes already has an MVP and he’s looking to grab his second Super Bowl ring this Sunday. People are saying he could catch the GOAT... Speaking of the GOAT, he is exactly who is standing in young Mahomes’ way. Timeless Tom Brady. The 43-year-old machine who shows no signs of slowing down. The greatest quarterback to ever live. Of course the Bucs are also the first team to play in the Super Bowl in which their home city is hosting. It’s the Tom Brady effect. Two great teams going at it on the biggest stage. This one should be an absolute thriller. I view this game as a passing of the torch from one generation's greatest QB to the next generation’s greatest QB. I think Mahomes and the Chiefs go into Tampa Bay and leave with their second consecutive Lombardi Trophy.

How the chips fell:

When I started this back in week 6, I had no idea how it was going to go. It ended up working out pretty well as it grew as the season went along. Picking up Crazy Uncle Jeff in week 9 was definitely a turning point. We had some very good weeks, along with some not so good weeks. Can’t say the same about Uncle Jeff though. He was automatic throughout the entire regular season, finishing at a perfect 10-0. He had a very respectable outing in the playoffs as well finishing up at a total of 15-1. As for myself, I had a very up and down first season in doing these picks. The guarantee record finished at a bit of a disappointing 9-5. However we make up for it with a very strong upset record of 9-4. My moneyline record was solid throughout, finishing up at a modest 126-54. As for the spread I was very average all season. 89-89 heading into the Super Bowl. I’m now a Chiefs cover away from a very respectable above .500 season… it wouldn’t be the first time Brady rained on my parade, as at the end of the day I am a Dolphins fan.
