Cleveland Browns (9-4) @ New York Giants (5-8)
Vegas Picks: CLE -6
Goldie’s Take: Browns Win 27-17
The Browns played awesome in their Monday Night loss to the Ravens. That was the best NFL game I’ve ever seen Baker Mayfield play. The Browns are actually the real deal this season. They have a strong pass rush and a solid secondary which makes for a pretty good defense, and they have arguably the best offensive line in the NFL, mixed with the best Running back tandem in the league. The Giants QB situation is questionable with Daniel Jones battling an injury. Browns improve to get to their first 10 win season since 2007.
Goldie’s Upset of the Week
Chicago Bears (6-7) @ Minnesota Vikings (6-7)
Vegas Picks: MIN -3
Goldie’s Take: Bears Win 30-27
After completely writing the Bears off, they shocked me last week and went out and thumped Deshaun Watson and the Texans. Trubisky looked great last weekend and the Bears actually had their offense humming. I believe Chicago will have similar results against another weak defense in Minnesota this Sunday. I don’t really trust either one of these teams down the stretch, but give me DA BEARS in this late season NFC North tilt.
Crazy Uncle Jeff’s Lock of the Week: BUF -6
Buffalo Bills (10-3) @ Denver Broncos (5-8)
Vegas Picks: BUF -6
Goldie’s Take: Bills Win 30-20
Josh Allen and the Bills travel to the mile high to face the Broncos in a rare Saturday afternoon game. Bills come into this one scorching hot, winners of six out of their last seven. Defense has been solid and this offense has been moving like a well oiled machine. Denver did have a nice win against Carolina last week, but I don’t see them having the same success against this well rounded Buffalo team. Uncle Jeff looks to remain perfect as he’s dedicating this one to his recently departed dog, Tiger, who’s up in puppy heaven now.
Carolina Panthers (4-9) @ Green Bay Packers (10-3)
Vegas Picks: GB -8
Goldie’s Take: Packers Win 31-20
Green Bay couldn’t come through for me last week, as they were only my second botched guarantee of the year. Although they barely failed to cover the hefty -7.5 point spread, the Packers did play very well in their 31-24 win Sunday against the Lions. On the other hand, Panthers will again be missing star running back Christian McCaffrey due to injury. Panthers have a short/handed offensive line as two members are battling injuries and are unlikely to play. Packers take care of business at home.
Houston Texans (4-9) @ Indianapolis Colts (9-4)
Vegas Picks: IND -7.5
Goldie’s Take: Colts Win 32-28
Colts continue to prove the doubters wrong with another big W last week against the Raiders and I’m beginning to buy into the hype. They have a top three offensive line in the NFL which is huge for them considering the limitations of QB Phillip Rivers’ mobility. Colts defense has been very solid this year, top ten in yards allowed per game. Also, the Colts play very clean football, second in the league in turnover differential at +10. I believe Deshaun Watson will go out swinging but in the end, the Colts get the win in Indy.
Detroit Lions (5-8) @ Tennessee Titans (9-4)
Vegas Picks: TEN -11
Goldie’s Take: Titans Win 31-19
With Stafford unlikely to play this week, there’s no way I can trust the Lions against a very strong Titans team. The Titans offense is going to run rampant on that porous Detroit defense. The Lions D ranks fourth worst in rush defense and sixth worst in pass defense. Good luck stopping Derrick Henry. Titans reach double digit wins this Sunday at home.
Seattle Seahawks (9-4) @ Washington Football (6-7)
Vegas Picks: SEA -6
Goldie’s Take: Seahawks Win 32-21
How bout that Washington Football Team, winners of four in a row. Back to back successful UOTWs. Although I do love the hype and momentum they’ve got going on there, I think it comes to an end this weekend against the Seahawks. Washington will be without quarterback Alex Smith, and Dwayne Haskins will start in his relief. Haskins isn’t the guy I trust, especially against Russell Wilson. Russ cooks up a 10th win for Seattle in the nation's capital this Sunday.
New England Patriots (6-7) @ Miami Dolphins (8-5)
Vegas Picks: MIA -1.5
Goldie’s Take: Dolphins Win 21-17
Yes, Belichick has historically been great against rookie QBs, but I have good reason to believe that Tua and the Fins are going to be an outlier in that stat this weekend. Cam Newton is not going to be able to function against this defense. The Fins D ranks second in the NFL in points allowed per game and they lead the league in takeaways. Also Belichick has historically been bad in Miami late in the season. The Dolphins have more to play for, right in the thick of the playoff push. Not to mention B Flo worked under Belichick for seven years, so he might know what to expect. The Dolphins get a big divisional win this Sunday in Miami.
Jacksonville Jaguars (1-12) @ Baltimore Ravens (8-5)
Vegas Picks: BAL -13
Goldie’s Take: Ravens Win 23-13
Ravens coming off what was an instant classic on Monday Night Football. Lamar coming back in from “cramps” to lead them down for that game winning drive was truly incredible to watch. Not much to think about in this one. Rebuilding Jags against a hot Ravens team who’s fighting for their playoff lives. I don’t know if they’ll cover that hefty 13 point spread, but you better believe they’re leaving the building with a victory.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-5) @ Atlanta Falcons (4-9)
Vegas Picks: TB -6
Goldie’s Take: Buccaneers Win 23-15
Bucs have proven their legitimacy this year. They haven’t had a hard time with any bad teams. Tampa’s worst loss came in a tough Thursday Night game against the Bears. Brady knows how to handle weaker teams. Also, to put the icing on the cake, the falcons will be without star Wideout Julio Jones. Bucs get a divisional win on the road.
San Francisco 49ers (5-8) @ Dallas Cowboys (4-9)
Vegas Picks: SF -3
Goldie’s Take: Cowboys Win 23-21
The Cowboys season got out of hand early with the Dak injury, followed by the Andy Dalton injury, but people forget the Cowboys have a very high powered offense with many weapons. Their defense has struggled this season, but has looked better of late. Meanwhile, the Niners are without Garoppolo and Kittle for the rest of the season and the Nick Mullens experiment hasn’t seemed to produce much success. Give me the Cowboys at home. Venue Call.
Philadelphia Eagles (4-8-1) @ Arizona Cardinals (7-6)
Vegas Picks: ARI -6
Goldie’s Take: Cardinals Win 31-23
Jalen Hurts! Shocked the world last week, ending the Saints nine game winning streak. Although I expected him to play well, I didn’t think there was a shot they’d win last week. The Cardinals game will be a different story. The Arizona defenders are more used to defending a mobile QB, as they have to face Kyler Murray everyday in practice. Also, now they have a bit of film on him. The Cards will devise a good game plan and get a win at home.
New York Jets (0-13) @ Los Angeles Rams (9-4)
Vegas Picks: LAR -17
Goldie’s Take: Rams Win 28-13
The Jets are pathetic. That spread is ridiculous for an NFL team. I wouldn’t bet on this game, simply because 17 is an absurd amount of points, but the Rams should be a sure thing to get a win this Sunday at home.
Kansas City Chiefs (12-1) @ New Orleans Saints (10-3)
Vegas Picks: KC -3
Goldie’s Take: Saints Win 33-30
Surprising tough loss for the Saints last week against rookie QB Jalen Hurts and the Eagles. It was a bit of a trap game for the Saints as they were coming off of nine straight wins. With Drew Brees back in for the Saints after a few weeks absence, I think they’ll most definitely bounce back. Sean Payton and Drew Brees are not the kind of guys who lose in back to back weeks. Mahomes looked a bit shaky last week, turning the ball over 3 times during the win in Miami. I think the Chiefs have been waiting to crack, while the Saints will bounce back after an unforeseen loss last week. Give me N’awlins in the Superdome in the game of the week.
Pittsburgh Steelers (11-2) @ Cincinnati Bengals (2-10-1)
Vegas Picks: PIT -13
Goldie’s Take: Steelers Win 23-14
Without Joe Burrow, the Bengals are pretty much irrelevant. They haven’t been able to have any success moving the ball, even against a weak Cowboys defense last week. On the other hand, the Steelers have lost two in a row and will look to bounce back strong against a weak divisional opponent.
