Goldie's Takes: NFL Week 8

(Alika Jenner/Getty Images)

Goldie’s All Time Record: 20-7

Goldie’s Week 7 record: 11-2

Goldie’s Guarantee: 2-0

Goldie’s Upset: 2-0

Goldie’s Guarantee

San Francisco 49ers (4-3) @ Seattle Seahawks (5-1)

Vegas Picks: SEA -3

Goldie’s take: Seahawks win 28-17

Seattle is coming off a heartbreaking loss in Arizona Sunday night. They added DE Carlos Dunlap earlier this week in a trade with the Bengals to get some much needed pass rush help. I think Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson come home and get back on track with a win against a very light 49ers team. The poor Niners are a very good football team that just can’t seem to stay healthy. The Seahawks win this divisional matchup at home.

Goldie’s Upset of the Week

New Orleans Saints (4-2) @ Chicago Bears (5-2)

Vegas Picks: NO -5

Goldie’s Take: Bears Win 27-24

Not often a 5-2 team playing at home comes into a game as such underdogs. This will be a prove it game for Chicago as the doubters biggest claim is that they’re beating up on bad teams. A win against the Bucs and the Saints will assert DA BEARS as legitimate. I think "Big Dick Nick" is up for the task, and DA BEARS get a much needed win at home to keep pace with Green Bay.

Minnesota Vikings (1-5) @ Green Bay Packers (5-1)

Vegas Picks: GB -6

Goldie’s Take: Packers Win 31-24

Even though the Vikings aren’t too strong this year, it’s still always an exciting matchup when these two divisional rivals get together. The Packers had a nice bounce back win last week against the Texans, I think Rodgers and the Packers keep the same energy this Sunday and get a win at home

Tennessee Titans (5-1) @ Cincinnati Bengals (1-5-1)

Vegas Picks: TEN -7

Goldie’s Take: Titans Win 30-20

The Titans are coming off a tough loss against the undefeated Steelers last week. I think the Titans are one of the most underrated teams in the league this season, and they’ll get back to their winning ways this Sunday against a weaker Bengals squad. The Bengals defense is going to be even weaker than usual this week after trading DE Carlos Dunlap. Titans win this one.

New York Jets (0-7) @ Kansas City Chiefs (6-1)

Vegas Picks: KC -19.5

Goldie’s Take: Chiefs Win 31-6

So Adam Gase is still a head coach in the NFL. Blows my mind. The Jets did show signs of life last week keeping it close with the Bills, but still it’s the Jets against arguably the best team in football. Andy Reid will have a field day against this weak New York team. Not much to think about here, Chiefs win this one handily.

Indianapolis Colts (4-2) @ Detroit Lions (3-3)

Vegas Picks: IND -3

Goldie’s Take: Colts Win 23-17

In this battle of the grizzled veteran QBs I like Phillip Rivers and the Colts to come out on top. Both of these teams have quietly kept themselves in the thick of the playoff race through their first six games. Lions barely escaped Atlanta with a win last week, I don’t see them having the same luck this weekend. Colts win in a pretty defensive game.

Pittsburgh Steelers (6-0) @ Baltimore Ravens (5-1)

Vegas Picks: BAL -4.5

Goldie’s Take: Ravens Win 28-26

In this AFC North showdown the Steelers look to remain perfect as the Ravens look to grab a hold of first place in the division. This game is an absolute toss up as these two heavyweights face off. This game should be a thriller as I’m making it a venue call and taking Lamar Jackson and the Ravens at home.

LA Rams (5-2) @ Miami Dolphins (3-3)

Vegas Picks: LAR -3.5

Goldie’s Take: Dolphins Win 24-20

TUA TUA TUA! The moment Dolphins fans have been waiting for is finally here as Rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa makes his NFL debut as a starter this Sunday. What a better way to start your career than having to face Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey? LOL That being said, I think Tua shows out in his debut and the Dolphins players won’t let him lose his first start. Especially at home. People forget that during his career at Alabama, Tua threw for 87 TDs and only 11 INTs. He was the surefire No.1 pick until he got hurt last season. If he really is back at 100 per cent, I see no reason why this kid won’t light the league on fire and live up to the hype. Dolphins win this one at home.

New England Patriots (2-4) @ Buffalo Bills (5-2)

Vegas Picks: BUF -4

Goldie’s Take: Bills Win 21-13

The power in the AFC east is shifting fast. The Pats have run this division for the past 2 decades, but Tom’s in Tampa so that’s over now. This game will prove to be a defining moment for this division. As great as Belichick is, I just don’t think this roster can win in this league. Pats are rebuilding for the first time in 20 years. Josh Allen and the Bills have a statement win at home this Sunday and take a commanding lead in the AFC East.

Las vegas Raiders (3-3) @ Cleveland Browns (5-2)

Vegas Picks: CLE -2.5

Goldie’s take: Raiders Win 38-34

Jon Gruden and the Raiders had a tough game last week as Tom Brady and the Bucs ran right through them. This game for Vegas is absolutely huge, sitting at 3-3 they don’t really know where they’re at. 4-3 and 3-4 are two very different things. That being said, even though they’re 5-2 the Browns are still 3rd in a loaded AFC North division. These are two pretty evenly matched teams, and I think this one comes down to grit. I think Jon Gruden and the Raiders win this one simply because they need it more, and they’ll want it more. Raiders win in a shootout.

Los Angeles Chargers (2-4) @ Denver Broncos (2-4)

Vegas Picks: LAC -3.5

Goldie’s Take: Chargers Win 27-20

The Chargers are a way better football team than their 2-4 record shows. Justin Herbert has emerged as one of the best young prospects in the game today. On the other hand, this just isn’t the year for the Broncos. I do think Melvin Gordon has a good day against his former team, but in the end the Chargers come out on top and improve to 3-4 as they look to get into the playoff hunt.

Dallas Cowboys (2-5) @ Philadelphia Eagles (2-4-1)

Vegas Picks: PHI -10.5

Goldie’s Take: Eagles Win 19-10

Crazy to think that a win can put the Cowboys back on top of the division. Ben Dinucci’s story reminiscent of Tom Brady? I don’t think so. Carson Wentz and the eagles will take care of business and get a win on SNF at home. Dallas might want to scrap this season and just look towards next season.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-2) @ New York Giants (1-6)

Vegas Picks: TB -13

Goldie’s Take: Bucs Win 30-14

This is a snoozefest on Monday Night Football as the Bucs are most likely going into New York and smack the Giants around. Tom Brady and the Bucs have settled into a nice groove of late, winners of five out of their last six games. The Bucs look to keep that train rolling right through the Giants on MNF.
