Another FIFA World cup is upon us, and another qualification from Mexico means that Guillermo Ochoa is going in net as Mexico’s number-one goalkeeper.


Ever since starting his professional career back in 2004 to the present day, Ochoa has become a household name for all World Cup viewers. With 130 caps for his country, this World Cup may be his last major tournament. Yet, the Mexican keeper will definitely give it his all, like he has done in the past, which has produced some unimaginable saves within the sticks. Ochoa is also famously known as Memo, this nickname was given to him after coming in clutch and being the hero for many games.


One of his most memorable and clutch save comes from the 2014 World cup, where Ochoa left it all on the field and pulled off a miraculous save denying Neymar. Some other major breathtaking saves were produced in 2018 where he denied Toni Kroos from scoring a free-kick goal. In 2018 as well, Ochoa served up an immense total of 25 saves in four games.


So with the few performances that have been mentioned and the many others that showcase his immense talent and reflexes, Ochoa will without a doubt be a core powerhouse for Mexico in Qatar.
