Diffusing Dynamite Sept. 8

Wednesday's show saw the fallout from All Out

By Gavin Axelrod

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) marched into Cincinnati Wednesday, Sept. 7 with a boatload of momentum following the All Out pay-per-view this past weekend.

Wednesday’s card featured the Dynamite debuts of the company’s trio of new signings -- Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson and Casino Battle Royale winner Ruby Soho. The show also featured the Dynamite debut of internationally renowned competitor Minoru Suzuki, who busted through the “forbidden door” at All Out.

Powerhouse Hobbs also defeated Dante Martin, The Pinnacle defeated Dark Order and so much more. As always Gavin Axelrod and Joseph Casciaro have you covered on all things Dynamite.

CM Punk wants all of Team Taz

CM Punk didn’t get much of an opportunity to bask in the glory of his victory Sunday at All Out. Instead he was interrupted by Taz during a routine promo segment.

Taz told Punk that even though he might be going around calling out all the people he wants to wrestle, to keep the names of his team out of his mouth. Prior to Punk’s AEW debut, he went on Twitter and posted a list of who he would face in the company, one of those names was Team Taz’s Powerhouse Hobbs.

Punk responded by telling Taz that he didn’t just want Hobbs, but he wanted Starks too. He then used Taz’s own saying against him, telling the rival faction that they should beat him if they can and that they’ll only survive if he lets them.

Dark Order turmoil continues

After their defeat at the hands of The Pinnacle, Dark Order’s growing furturations reached a boiling point. First John Silver decked Evil Uno with a punch and then Stu Grayson got retribution and returned the favour to the hungee one.

As Evil Uno started to get up, he was leveled by Five. Dark Order’s 10 tried to sort out the issues, but it was to no avail. The battle lines in this infeud have clearly been drawn with Silver, 10 and Five on one side and Uno, Grayson and Colt Cabana on the other.

Even Anna Jay couldn’t get her boys in line on this night.

MJF set for stadium showdown with Brian Pillman Jr

(@AEW via Twitter)

Brian Pillman Jr. was on the losing end of a verbal barrage in his hometown Wednesday night. To his credit, Pillman did try to stand up for himself, but all it got him was a beatdown from Wardlow.

Later on in the show we found out that Pillman Jr. would be facing MJF in two week’s time at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York. He will also face Max Caster this Friday on Rampage as a tune up of sorts for his back match under the lights.

Soho’s sweet Dynamite debut

Ruby Soho was victorious over Jamie Hayter Wednesday night in her Dynamite debut. It was a great match between stars of AEW’s women’s division.

Unfortunately, Soho’s moment was ruined when Britt Baker and Rebel attacked. Riho and Kris Statlander made the save, which set up a trios match for Rampage between the six women.

A segment for the ages

Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson came face-to-face Wednesday night. We also learned during this segment that Adam Cole has a bone to pick with Tony Schiavone because of his relationship with his girlfriend Britt Baker.

It looks as though we’re going to eventually see Kenny Omega take on Bryan Danielson, but whether it’s for the AEW World Championship remains to be seen. For Danielson to get a title match, he’ll have to run through AEW’s rankings in short order.

We also could be heading towards another Blood and Guts match between The Elite vs Christian Cage, Jurassic Express, Frankie Kazarian and Danielson.

Mox and Suzuki meet in an epic clash

Jon Moxley defeated Minoru Suzuki in an intense battle Wednesday night in his hometown of Cincinnati Ohio. The only blunder in this segment was they didn’t play the entirety of Suzuki’s iconic theme, Kaze Ni Nare.

The forbidden door is wide open and only time will tell who is walking through it. In the meantime, another exciting episode awaits us next Wednesday.

Next week: Adam Cole makes his in-ring debut, Darby Allin takes on Shawn Spears and more!
