Diffusing Dynamite Sept. 1

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) was back in Chicago tonight for the go-home Dynamite for this Sunday’s All Out pay-per-view. They announced quite the loaded show to get everyone ready for their biggest show of the year coming this weekend.

Announced for this show was the rematch between FTR and Santana & Ortiz, Brian Cage vs Powerhouse Hobbs and The Elite vs Jurassic Express & Lucha Brothers. Also, we would be addressed by Chicago’s own CM Punk ahead of his return to the ring.

As always the Diffusing Dynamite team of Joseph Casciaro and Gavin Axelrod have you covered for all things AEW!

Santana & Ortiz finally get the win

The opening match of Dynamite was the long-awaited rematch between FTR and Santana & Ortiz. This was an amazing tag team match and both teams really shined showcasing their skills.

Both teams have great chemistry, and Santana & Ortiz had yet to get a big moment in AEW in my opinion. That all changed tonight when Santana & Ortiz against all odds finally got the big win and overcame FTR. I believe they should be next in line for a Tag Team title shot after this massive win!

CM Punk was out to address his hometown crowd ahead of his big return to the ring this Sunday against Darby Allin. However, Punk did not get to say too much as he was attacked by 2.0 and Daniel Garcia.

To make the save out came Punk’s Sunday opponent Darby Allin and Sting and they battled back. It ended with Allin hitting a Coffin Drop, Sting hitting a Scorpion Death Drop and CM Punk hitting his first GTS in seven years!

After that Allin and Punk went nose to nose, but Sting then grabbed a microphone to give some information about Sunday. Sting said that Sunday is not about him and he will be happy to step back and watch this match from the back. All Out will be Allin vs Punk with no Sting insight, the anticipation is real!

MJF and Jericho with some strong words

MJF is going up against Chris Jericho this Sunday, with Jericho’s career on the line and MJF had some words for Jericho. MJF was there to give Jericho some respect saying he is upon the Mount Rushmore of wrestling, but when MJF retires it will be him taking Jericho’s spot.

MJF compared Jericho to Muhammad Ali saying just like Ali he was once considered the G.O.A.T., but neither of them knows when to give up. They both kept coming back as a shell of themselves, and now MJF says Jericho has already lost to him three times so this will be the final nail in the coffin.

MJF finally said he is on one of the greatest runs in professional wrestling and it will reach its peak this Sunday at All Out!

However, Jericho did not finish the night with no response and had this to say later in the night:

Team Taz continues to screw Cage

Brian Cage was looking to get his first bit of revenge on Team Taz on Dynamite when he took on Powerhouse Hobbs. However, things did not go to plan as it was not a fair one-on-one match.

Hook distracted the referee allowing Hobbs to throw Cage towards Ricky Starks who hit Cage right in the face with the FTW Championship. Hobbs then planted Cage and stole a win over the former member of Team Taz.

The Elite destroy their Sunday opponents

The main event of Dynamite was the eight-man tag team match between The Elite and Jurassic Express & The Lucha Bros. It was an action-packed main event, but due to The Elite’s sneaky tactics, they were able to steal the win.

However, it was post-match when Kenny Omega made his way to the ring that all hell broke loose. Omega led an attack on the four men by The Elite, Christian Cage then attempted to make the save but the numbers games were too much.

Omega then said he stole the keys to the steel cage control room and had Don Callis drop the cage and trap The Lucha Bros and Cage in the cage with The Elite. We then saw a brutal beat down to close Dynamite, both Cage and The Lucha Bros were demolished and definitely weakened ahead of Sunday.

However, this also may have lit a fire under them and gave them the edge leading into Sunday with their hopes of winning some gold!
