Diffusing Dynamite Oct. 16

The Saturday special saw a tournament bracket unveiled and surprise twists

BY Gavin Axelrod

It’s Saturday and you know what that means, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is back. The company rolled into Miami for a special edition of Saturday night Dynamite.

The card saw Jon Moxley obliterate Wheeler Yuta, Penelope Ford beat Kiera Hogan and MJF call out Darby Allin.

Elsewhere on the show, ‘Hangman’ Adam Page addressed his upcoming match against Kenny Omega, Malakai Black beat Dante Martin and the Superkliq took on Dark Order.

As always Gavin Axelrod and Joseph Casciaro have you covered on all things Dynamite!

AEW World Title Eliminator bracket revealed

Starting next week, a tournament will be held to crown a new number one contender for the AEW World Championship.

On next Friday’s episode of Rampage, Orange Cassidy will face Powerhouse Hobbs. On Saturday’s episode of Dynamite, we’ll see Bryan Danielson take on Dustin Rhodes and Lance Archer battle Eddie Kingston.

The bracket itself is pretty mediocre, but all signs point to the final at Full Gear being between Bryan and Jon Moxley.

Bryan Danielson goes through war again

Twenty-four hours after beating Minoru Suzuki on Rampage, Bryan Danielson was in action again.

His opponent on Saturday’s episode of Dynamite was the ‘Infamous’ Bobby Fish. The two put on a great, but short technical match.

To no surprise, Bryan emerged victoriously and is racking up wins in his quest to become AEW World Champion.

FTR win AAA gold

FTR winning the AAA tag team titles is a genius concept, full stop.

While the wrestling world expected a debuting set of luchadors, AEW really went out of the box on this one. They used the old WWE connection of Andrade and FTR to make the storyline here. Plus, they also added to the fact that Andrade has beef with the Lucha Bros.

Just close your eyes and imagine FTR in Mexico, enforcing the tag rope and not doing any flips.

We also can’t forget to mention that the match the two teams had Saturday night was awesome. Here’s to hoping we get a winner takes all rematch at Full Gear.

Hangman comes home

As Adam Page put it Saturday night, the world changed everyone who started AEW together. While they may not be as close anymore, everyone’s favourite cowboy is successfully riding on his own path.

Page cut a passionate promo during the show, which should get every AEW fan behind him on his quest to win gold. It was reminiscent of Dusty Rhodes classic “hard times” promo too.

While the ‘Hangman’ doesn’t want to promise us that he’ll be victorious at Full Gear, we’re rooting for him all the way.

Superkliq and Dark Order steal the show

Usually, we write these Diffusing Dynamites in order of the card, but let's switch it up a bit tonight.

Dark Order versus the Superkliq was easily the best match on the show. It was a high octane barnburner from start to finish and also helped to further the feud between the two stables.

Dark Order didn’t win the match, but they had a tremendous showing. If you weren’t able to catch this match live, it was a bundle of fun.

Next week: Cody Rhodes vs Malakai Black III, Lance Archer vs Eddie Kingston and more!
