All Elite Wrestling (AEW) put together a loaded card for its first unopposed Wednesday show this week.

The Young Bucks defended the AEW Tag Team Championships against Rey Fenix and PAC, Jade Cargill beat Red Velvet and Kris Statlander returned to action. We also got a video package from a returning Thunder Rosa who made it clear she’s here to take over the world.

Elsewhere on the show, Dax Harwood took on Chris Jericho, Christian Cage was beaten down by Powerhouse Hobbs and Anthony Ogogo was victorious in his debut match.

As always Gavin Axelrod and Joseph Casciaro have you covered on everything AEW!

The real Young Bucks stand up

(AEW)

A week after they realigned with Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks’ new attitude was on full display. The AEW World Tag Team Champions came to the ring draped in sleek new ring gear and rocking Dior Jordan 1s.

This match was a barnburner from start to finish, where every second mattered. One of the best parts about it was that there were hardly any near falls.

The Young Bucks’ arrogance propelled them in this match, taunting the fans and their opponents at every opportunity. They also hit a low blow on PAC during the match too.

Nick Jackson won his team the match when he unmasked Rey Fenix, drilled him with a superkick and pinned him for the win. Wrestling purists won’t be happy with the finish, but this match was great from start to finish.

Jade Cargill continues her dominance

(AEW)

AEW’s spark plug Red Velvet was stirring up the action Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the dominant Jade Cargill.

The Jacksonville, Fla native continues to dominate AEW’s women’s division. If her winning streak continues she’ll have a match for the AEW Women’s World Championship in no time.

Hats off to AEW for successfully executing another secondary feud in the women’s division, things are really starting to look up.

Chris Jericho chops down Dax Harwood

(AEW)

Chris Jericho scored the first victory in what is likely to be a series of encounters between his Inner Circle and The Pinnacle.

This match overachieved and was a nice addition to the show. Jericho can still go in the ring and isn’t showing any signs of calling it quits anytime soon.

Mike Tyson also played his role as the special enforcer very well, keeping things fair. In fact, he helped keep the shenanigans to a minimum.

Jericho won the match with a Judas Effect and then declared Tyson a member of The Inner Circle.

Kris Statlander returns to the ring

(AEW)

Everyone’s favourite alien Kris Statlander returned to the ring Wednesday, earning a victory in impressive fashion.

Statlander made quick work of her opponent Amber Nova, displaying a unique arsenal of speed, strength and viciousness in the process. She was also the last person to defeat AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida back on Dynamite in 2019.

AEW’s women’s division is getting very strong, with Britt Baker, Tay Conti, Thunder Rosa, Jade Cargill and now Statlander all looking like solid contenders.

TNT Championship main event an overbooked mess with a redeemable finish

(AEW)

The TNT Championship Falls Count Anywhere match between Matt Hardy and Darby Allin was one match that helped build three different feuds.

First, it continued Allin’s ongoing rivalry with the Hardy Family Office when they came out to attack him. Then it helped build Sting and Lance Archer’s rivalry when the Murderhawk Monster laid waste to Isiah Cassidy.

Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky also got involved in the match as they watched from the sidelines and even tried to get involved in the mid-match brawl. It seems like Page or Sky will challenge Allin for the belt next.

Allin emerged from all the chaos as the winner of the match. He landed a picture-perfect Coffin Drop on Matt Hardy after jumping off a production tower above the commentary desk.

It was a redeemable finish, which quickly made the audience forget all about the strange and confusing events that occurred before it.

Next week: Adam Page takes on Ricky Starks, Christian Cage faces Powerhouse Hobbs and Tay Conti challenges Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women's World Championship.
