Los Angeles Rams (7-4) @ Arizona Cardinals (6-5)
Vegas Picks: LAR -2.5
Goldie’s Take: Rams Win 27-21
The Rams lost a divisional matchup last week against the Niners, and a lot of experts around the league are already jumping off the Ram bandwagon. Relax. The niners are a bad matchup for the Rams, proved by the fact that they’ve already lost to them twice this year. Sean Mcvay and the Rams will bounce back. Aaron Donald will give Arizona’s O-line a tough time; not to mention that Jalen Ramsey will be a very tough matchup for Deandre Hopkins. Rams get back to their winning ways with a win this Sunday in the desert. I GUARANTEE IT.
Goldie’s Upset of the Week
Washington Football Team (4-7) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (11-0)
Vegas Picks: PIT -7
Goldie’s Take: Washington Wins 26-23
In the first of two MNF games this week, the Steelers host Washington. The Steelers record remains undefeated, but can’t be that confident after the sloppy performance they turned in last Wednesday against the Ravens. Pittsburgh tends to play down to their opponent’s record this season. They did it against Dallas a few weeks ago, and also played poorly on Wednesday against recently Covid-ravaged Baltimore. Pittsburgh is also coming off of a short week caused by all of the chaos surrounding their game against the Ravens. Washington is fighting for a playoff spot in the NFC East, and Alex Smith is looking to prove he’s more than just a great story. ‘72 Dolphins say cheers as the Steelers will be undefeated no longer. UPSET!!
Crazy Uncle Jeff’s Lock of the Week
New Orleans Saints (9-2) @ Atlanta Falcons (4-7)
Vegas Picks: NO -3
Goldie’s Take: Saints Win 24-20
Uncle Jeffy looks to remain perfect, as this should be a much closer matchup than these two teams records show. The Taysom Hill-led Saints beat the dirty birds just two weeks ago in New Orleans. Ever since Drew Brees went down with an injury, the Saints have been all about the run. They’ve done a great job of using a good mix of Alvin Kamara, Latavius Murray, and Taysom Hill. I believe that game plan stands true this Sunday in Atlanta. Saints red hot streak continues and they join the double digit win club. If you ask Uncle Jeff, he’d say it’s a sure thing.
Cleveland Browns (8-3) @ Tennessee Titans (8-3)
Vegas Picks: TEN -5.5
Goldie’s Take: Titans Win 31-28
Two 8-3 teams face off late in the season as we try to weed out the pretenders from the contenders. Although 8-3, I’m not sold on the hype surrounding the Browns. They have done a good job of beating bad teams, but have struggled against good teams all year. Should be a close game, but I’m taking Derrick Henry and the Titans at home.
Detroit Lions (4-7) @ Chicago Bears (5-6)
Vegas Picks: CHI -3
Goldie’s Take: Bears Win 19-17
Both of these teams stink. Divisional rivals, yes, but the fact remains that they both stink. The Bears have lost five in a row. The Lions have lost four out of their last five. Detroit has looked helpless the past two weeks. The Bears don’t have a quarterback. Venue call, Bears win at home.
Cincinnati Bengals (2-8-1) @ Miami Dolphins (7-4)
Vegas Picks: MIA -10.5
Goldie’s Take: Dolphins Win 26-13
Tua is listed as questionable right now for Sunday’s game versus the Bengals, but it doesn’t matter. The Fins have proven they can win with either QB. Miami’s defense should have a huge day against the horrid Cincy offensive line. With Bengals star rookie QB out for the season, the Bengals offense should have trouble moving the ball all game. Dolphins win this one convincingly.
Jacksonville Jaguars (1-10) @ Minnesota Vikings (5-6)
Vegas Picks: MIN -10
Goldie’s Take: Vikings Win 29-20
It’s clear that the Jags are looking towards the draft right now with ten losses in eleven games, but Mike Glennon did keep the Jags in a close one last week against the Browns. I think the Jags will hang around in this game, but in the end Dalvin Cook and the Vikes will get a W at home.
Indianapolis Colts (7-4) @ Houston Texans (4-7)
Vegas Picks: IND -3
Goldie’s Take: Colts Win 23-22
Colts are in the midst of a tight race for the playoffs in the AFC. Philip Rivers' career clock is ticking fast. He knows this is one of his last shots to make a run at a super bowl. Although Deshaun Watson has been ballin’ these last few weeks, I think the completeness of the Colts team gets them the divisional win in H-Town this Sunday.
Las Vegas Raiders (6-5) @ New York Jets (0-11)
Vegas Picks: LV -8.5
Goldie’s Take: Raiders Win 24-14
The Jets have been playing better lately, yes, but still not well enough to win in this league. Gruden and the Raiders absolutely need a win to keep pace in the AFC wild card race, because as of right now the Raiders are just on the outside looking in. Raiders take care of business in New York this Sunday.
New York Giants (4-7) @ Seattle Seahawks (8-3)
Vegas Picks: SEA -11
Goldie’s Take: Seahawks Win 27-14
Right as the Giants were really starting to put something together, QB Daniel Jones goes down with an injury. Long time NFL backup Colt McCoy is set to start in his absence. An injury like that really can deflate a team, and traveling to Seattle to play Russell Wilson isn’t going to make anything easier. Seahawks get a win at home.
New England Patriots (5-6) @ Los Angeles Chargers (3-8)
Vegas Picks: NO SPREAD
Goldie’s Take: Patriots Win 23-17
Pats are hanging on for dear life in the playoff chase as they travel to LA to face the Chargers this week. It’s worth noting that rookie quarterbacks are 5-20 all time facing Bill Belichick. Chargers have consistently displayed the inability to close out wins this year. Bill Belichick is going to have a field day this Sunday against a rookie QB in Justin Herbert who makes a lot of mistakes. Pats win this one out west.
Philadelphia Eagles (3-7-1) @ Green Bay Packers (8-3)
Vegas Picks: GB -9
Goldie’s Take: Packers Win 30-23
Packers are simply the better team here. Aaron Rodgers has been playing at an MVP level all season, and the Packers are rolling because of it. On the other hand, the Eagles have been spiraling out of control for weeks now. However, the Eagles have shown the ability to stay in close games against good teams. Thus, I am taking the Packers to win, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Green Bay fails to cover the 9 point spread.
Denver Broncos (4-7) @ Kansas City Chiefs (10-1)
Vegas Picks: KC -13.5
Goldie’s Take: Chiefs Win 43-24
Patty Mahomes and the Chiefs at home on Sunday Night Football? Yea, I’m taking KC. The Chiefs are the best team in the NFL right now, and they are just cruising along, waiting for the playoffs. The Broncos should have Drew Lock back under center this Sunday, so I do think the Broncos will put up a bit of a fight, but in the end the Chiefs run away with the win in primetime.
Buffalo Bills (8-3) @ San Francisco 49ers (5-6)
Vegas Picks: SF -1
Goldie’s Take: Bills Win 28-26
Although the Niners pulled off a nice upset win last week against the Rams, I’m still not sold on the Niners this season. They had too many injuries at the start and haven’t been able to recover. The Bills have been solid all season, and Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott should have a good game plan ready for this one. It’s worth noting that this game will be played in Arizona due to Santa Clara COVID restrictions, so both teams will have to travel. Bills win this one as Josh Allen will be the X factor.
Dallas Cowboys @ Baltimore Ravens
Vegas Picks: BAL -7.5
Goldie’s Take: Ravens Win 22-16
Even in a Tuesday Night game, the Ravens will still be coming off of a short week. They will most likely have QB Lamar Jackson back for this one. I suspect they’ll get an ugly win in this one, mostly because of the dysfunction in Dallas. But hey, a win is a win, right Ravens fans?
